My 22nd Happy Birthday. (Part Une)

And so it was my 22nd happy birthday a little over a week ago. Days prior my birthday celebration was a big stressful not-fun-at-all blur. Not to mention that I am naturally scroogey when it comes to my birthdays.
My birthday will just be an annual reminder or a pop-up alert that my days to be successful are numbered and well-monitored. In short, my age is inversely proportional to the number of years I ought to be successful. And that exact thought just puts a lot of pressure to myself.
However, I think the universe conspired for me to celebrate my birthday. As i have mentioned in my multiply account, Superfly Manila and Embassy Fly gave me a mini birthday bash for free at their House Central Wednesday event; like "come bring your friends and we will give you free drinks" kind of thing.
It was an all-too-sudden thing, since I was already set for a simple Embassy night-out last Friday with my former work friends for my birthday salubong (but, that is another story.) So anyway, I invited everyone in my phone book but the thing is my line gut cut-off so I had the use my boyfriend's number. I got a handful of declines, since it was a Wednesday night and it's finals' week at school. I aslo foundnd it hard to contact everyone and since I was using a different number, some of my geniuses friends thought it was a joke. Fun-ney.
But I can't blame them though. I am not really into this kind of invite people thing. I don't like organizing things or events for myself (i.e. my birthday.)
So Wednesday came and after a couple more mix ups, slip ups, and what-not's, me, my superfriends, the usual suspects, and their friends were found at Embassy Main Room. We just thought we're still too young for the house scene, so we just hung at Styles Entertainment's Superklasse Wednesday at the main room for the usual hip-hop night.
Kat's not really into this bar-scene type of thing. But for her to be there, it made my happy birthday all the more special.

With her 2 friends, Gilson and Eric who are actually boyfriends.
Chinkee's "alleged" ex-boyfriends are there too, Stanley and Erwin. Stan did a wonderful job in taking charge of some of the photos because our perennial photogs-man a.k.a. my boyfriend wasn't there. =(
My birthday celebration also served as a reunion night-out of the superfriends... of MY superfriends.
Our looks have changed and we're in different places now. We might have been hurt, scorned, tainted, or damaged... but six years after, we're still standing looking gorgeous and fabulous as ever. I just love these girls to bits! =)
And there were also the usual suspects, my now-regular hang-out girlfriends, Rainne and Chinkee, and their pretty-pretty friend, Nikki. This is what "Camwhores United" look like.
Two hours after, Paul and Annette came! It was my first time to see Annette party and dang! She worked it! =D
A little bit of mingling and introducing...
They warmed up to each other and we had a blast.
Everybody's friends with everybody, exactly the way I wanted it to happen.
And the fun just kept on getting better and better.
The signs of the times that everybody's just having a good time.
A little bit later, maybe because our group was having too much fun, a photogs-man from Styles approached us for photo-ops.
To sum that Wednesday night up, I got drunk; thus, explains the morning-after hang-over.
After that night, I have come to realize that aging a year is not really so bad. It will make you a year older and (hopefully) a year wiser. It's really nice to celebrate life with good people exuding good vibes and just having a good time.
...and yeah, of course... it's nice to celebrate and party when you have friends who have really good DNAs to boot.
So, happy birthday to me. And hopefully more drinks to come.

To be continued...
